About Me

My name is Tony and I am passionate about dogs. I have always been around them, from the Black Labrador pup that arrived when I was born (a gift from the midwife), to the others I grew up with, through German Shepherds, Rottweilers and more recently sighthounds. I currently have a Lurcher and a ex-racing Greyhound, both of whom can be found on our facebook page ... and the sofa!

While I was brought up with "old school" non-compassionate training methods, my philosophy is one of respect, forming positive connections and treating every dog as an individual. I do not use aversive training techniques and will not advocate the use of any equipment that causes pain or fear and I associate with professional organisations that promote force free techniques.

I recently successfully completed my Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management (at Level 6 with Distinction) and have received professional accreditation through various certifying bodies. My intention is to continue to develop both my professional and practical knowledge to ensure I continue to promote best practice, based on current scientific research.

I work as a volunteer home checker for a rescue centre that is close to my heart, and also provide support to my local RSPCA rehoming centre.
